Health Careers

Healthcare courses and programs are available through Community and Workforce Education (CWE) to prepare you for entry-level careers in the medical field.

Many programs are available in both the fall and spring and are also eligible for TPEG financial aid funding. 

Students interested in CWE Health Careers programs are encouraged to attend a Health Careers Orientation (http://www.hillcollege.edu/Community/CWE/health-careers/Orientation.html) regarding these programs.  Orientations are scheduled the first Tuesday of each month in Hillsboro, and the first Wednesday of each month  in Cleburne, to provide information about the programs and breakdown the specific registration requirements for all Health Careers programs.

Programs include:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Certified Medication Aide
  • Certified Medication Aide Update
  • Certified Nurse Aide
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician
  • Massage Therapy
  • Medical Billing and Coding
  • Medical Office Assistant

We offer healthcare licensure exam prep classes:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician
  • CPR Certification
  • EKG Certification (Certification earned as part of Certified Medical Assistant program.)

Professional development opportunities for licensure and certification renewal can be found through a number of professional Community and Workforce Education classes and seminars in healthcare fields:

  • Healthcare professionals
  • Mental health professionals 
  • Medication Administration Update
  • ADN Transition Skills Seminar (formerly refresher course, LVN/Paramedic)
