| WWII on the Home Front: "Sweetheart" Mementos |
The newest exhibit in the museum's temporary gallery showcases "sweetheart" collectibles, souvenirs and small tokens sent home by servicemen abroad or on base during WWII. These items provided servicemen with a connection to the home front and allowed family members to show their patriotism and pride. Artifacts on display include jewelry, pins, pillow covers, pennants, and banners commemorating the war effort.
This exhibit will be on display in the temporary gallery from September through December, 2009.
