Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that Hill College is making available to all its students.
Smarthinking provides tutoring in mathematics (basic math through Calculus, including Bilingual Math), Biology,
Intro Human A & P, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Intro to Finance, Statistics, Spanish,
and Writing. Tutoring is available up to 24/7.

With Smarthinking you can:

Connect With an e-structor and interact with a live tutor.

Submit your Writing for any class to their Online Writing Lab.

Submit a Question and receive a reply from a tutor.
How to Access Smarthinking.com
- Log into your Blackboard 7 account

- Enter the Smarthinking class and click on the link in Announcements
- Click on the link in External Links.
- You will then be moved to the “Smarthinking Online Tutoring” website. You will need to
click on “Click Here to Create Your Account!”. On this site, please note the Technology Requirements,
Troubleshooting Tips, and Technical Support Team information. You may wish to print out this page for future
reference.
- You will then be moved to the “Smarthinking Personal Account Creation” page. Follow the
instructions carefully and then click on “Continue.”
- If there were no problems with your login name and/or password, you will then be moved to the “My
Home Page” page. You can see the variety of help available to you at this website --- “Connect with an
E-structor,” “Schedule a Personal Session,” “Submit your Writing,”
“Submit a Question,” “Academic Resources.”
In English, you will be using the “Submit your Writing” quite a bit. You will want to click on
“Tell Me How” for information on how to do this process.
When you click on “Submit your Writing” on “My Home Page,” the instructions to do so will be
given. Be sure you follow the instructions very carefully.

Be sure you note the 24-hour response time needed for response to writing submissions. This online tutoring will be well
worth the effort.
